Festival of Science at ISŠ-COP

This year, ISS began cooperating with the Integrated Secondary School - Centre of Practical Training and State Language School (ISŠ-COP) in Valasske Mezirici by participating in the second year of the Festival of Science event, which took place on 6 December 2017 at the school.

In addition to the interesting physics and chemistry experiments undertaken by staff from "Svět vědy a techniky" from Vítkovice complex Dolní oblast, the general public  were invited to visit classrooms and the school’s workshops.  The companies cooperating with the school in pupil training and their future employment participated in this event as well.

“For pupils in the last years of elementary school, and for the general public, the school aims to help them as they begin to uncover the secrets of science and technics in an interactive, playful and entertaining approach”, commented the school’s principal, Mgr. Petr Pavlůsek. As part of their course work, approximately 600 pupils from the Vsetín – Nový Jičín – Přerov area, visited the Festival. Many others came either with their parents or friends.

On 10 November 2017, ISS also participated in an Open House organised by the school.

An HR representative was able to communicate with students and teachers at ISŠ-COP and also with ninth grade pupils from the primary schools for whom this event was primarily intended. These pupils were not only informed about the ISŠ-COP study program, but also of the opportunities for the future employment after graduation. A lot of questions posed by their parents were also answered.

ISŠ-COP offers several metallurgy, electro-technical and chemical study programs and is equipped with workshops for practical training. ISS provided ISŠ-COP with a financial donation for additional equipment for these workshops. In the workshops, students can hone their skills and knowledge in praxis. There are many successful graduates from ISŠ-COP among our employees. Michal Najt, the Junior Manager of Production Location 2, is one of them. He passed along his knowledge and experience to all those who were interested in acquiring information about ISS.
