Quality, Safety and Environment

The basic premise of successful long-term operations is unending progress. This requirement is formally defined as a PDCA improvement cycle under the norms of Quality Management System according to ISO 9001.2015, IATF 16949:2016 and Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015. Nippon Kayaku commitment to this principle with its KAYAKU spirit.

Year 2000 - ISO 9001 certified
Year 2001 - QS 9000 certified
Year 2002 - ISO 14001 certified
Year 2003 - ISO/TS 16949 certified (in place of QS 9000)
Year 2008 - Integration of QMS and EMS system into one Integrated Management System (IMS)
Year 2017 - IATF 16949 certified (in place of ISO/TS 16949)

The current Integrated Management System was developed according to IATF 16949 (with respect to QMS) and ISO 14001 (with respect to EMS) standards and applies to the development, production and sale of electric initiators and micro gas generators for automotive safety systems.

In 2014, a new quality testing room was built at Location 4 in Bobrky and the testing room for Location 2 and 3 in Jablunka was centralized.

 

Development and Testing of New Products  

Development and technical enhancement of electric initiators is undertaken in cooperation with all Nippon Kayaku Group companies. New products are tested under validation programs required by all major world carmakers. Product validation results are presented to our customers in the form of a PPAP (pre-production parts approval process).

 

Occupational Health and Safety at KSE

Occupational health and safety is the company’s foremost priority. As a result, the utmost care is applied to the adaption of work organization in order to minimize any risks or negative impact on the health and lives of our employees.
Employees working directly with explosive material must hold a specialized permit for this activity and their skills are tested and improved in regular training activities.
The workplace, technical equipment and aids are subjected to strict regulations and they are furnished and equipped with maximum emphasis on ensuring employee safety. Work with explosives and pyrotechnical products is conducted according to approved technological procedures.
Regular safety audits, identification, evaluation and elimination of risks and risk factors in the workplace are undertaken to ensure occupational health and safety.
