KAIZEN Conference

ISS employees went to represent ISS at the 58th Annual KAIZEN Conference, which was held from 16 to 17 November 2017 in Takasaki. Michal Najt (PROD, JM Location 2), Tomáš Havran (PROD), Jaroslav Šimara (R&D) and Jiří Grycman (ENG) presented the “Improvement of SQUIB (GTMS) process – reduction of scrap” project.

Mr. Pavel Jaroščák was also present in a support role and as a Czech-Japanese interpreter. The presentations were carried out in two halls in the ETERNA Takasaki Congress Center. Twenty-nine improvement themes connected with the fields of functional chemistry, pharmacy, agrochemicals and safety were presented. At the end of the conference the two best improvement topics were announced in both halls and each participating group received a Contribution Award. We are proud to announce that the ISS performance was proclaimed second best performance by the committee and obtained the Special Award.

Since all companies and Departments of the Nippon Kayaku Co. group were present, the ISS representatives had the opportunity to discuss several common issues with other participants after the closing ceremony and could make new connections for future cooperation.

A lot of thanks to all GTMS team members along with all the employees who participated in the improvement theme and therefore contributed to its fulfilment.
