IAA – INTERNATIONAL AUTOMOTIVE EXHIBITION

Generally speaking, it is believed that one who does not participate in the Frankfurt exhibition, or at least does not visit it, wastes an extraordinary opportunity to see, discuss and understand the newest trends in the automobile industry including their impacts on mobility, society and environment.
A new and very quickly developing area in the industry is autonomous driving systems, which stem from remarkable developments in the fields of electronics, camera technology and radar systems. The gratifying news to all of our employees is that, even in these new automobiles, producers still count on pyrotechnical safety systems and the number applications outside should continue to follow a rising trend. The reason for this is simple – experts predict that rather than paying attention to driving, passengers will focus on different activities and will not always sit in the car facing forward. Therefore, in case of accidents, it will be necessary to secure passengers in their seats and completely fill the cabin space with airbags in order to prevent serious injuries.
Developments in electric vehicles were also worth seeing, however, the majority of cars displayed were in the testing stage or prototypes. The few functional automobiles on the market cost in excess of 1 million crowns and it is clear that this is not a solution for mass electro-mobility. Only in the coming years will it show whether electric automobiles are to become an important segment of the market for a wider consumer public. It will be interesting to see how the various automobile manufacturers and countries approach the issue.
