BESIP 2017 – Competition for Young Cyclists

This year’s Traffic-safety Competition for Young Cyclists, which is popular with children and teachers alike, took place on the urban street simulation course in Kromeriz on 20 May 2017. The event is organized annually by the Czech Republic Government Council and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in cooperation with the Czech Red Cross and Police Presidium.

This was a regional round, in which 32 contestants from the Zlín region, aged 10-16, showed off their abilities according to traffic rules, cycling skills on demanding terrain and working with a map. The practical part was preceded by a theoretical phase where the contestants had to pass a test and demonstrate their abilities applying first aid on living models.

For onlookers, probably the most interesting part was the previously mentioned cycling skills discipline, for which the event’s organizer, BESIP, prepared ten obstacle courses, on which the representatives of the city and state police evaluated individual performances.

INDET SAFETY SYSTEMS a.s. feels honored to be able to support such events and to take part in the education of young users of the roads. Representatives of the Corporate Planning Department attended the competition to support the cyclists and to present them with small tokens. The best received more valuable prizes including trophies and the opportunity to look forward to further competitions in the state round. We wish them luck!
