On the 17th of October 2014, a ceremony was held to hand over newly constructed kitchenettes, donated by ISS, to be installed in special classrooms at the Turkmneská Elementary School and Preschool in Vsetín.
The event took place in the presence of Mr. Susumu Tokutake, the CEO of ISS, Mrs. Dagmar Šimková, the school’s director and Mrs. Vlastka Kovářová, the head teacher of the special class (pictured on the left).
The construction and installation of the kitchenettes, in six classrooms altogether, took place during the summer holidays. Thanks to these new facilities, the students will be able to learn, among other things, daily routines in the preparation of food, washing dishes, cleaning up etc., which are very important for their further development.
The Special Elementary School, which is a part of the Turkmenská Elementary School and Preschool in Vsetín, is for children with more challenging mental disabilities. It includes a classroom for autistic children and two classrooms for the rehabilitation of immobile students with multiple disabilities.
