The grand opening of the new Indet Safety Systems (ISS) production plant was held on 13 December 2013. This new Location will be used for the molding of plastic bodies for GTMS initiators and to control their output. Before the opening of the new facility, these activities were conducted at the Jasenice plant but, due to the expansion of GTMS production, ISS was forced to consider alternative locations for this process; the decision was taken to move production to Bobrky.
The ISS central offices and warehouses have been located in the Bobrky industrial zone since 2007. The building, which was purchased in 2012, was remodeled to house the new manufacturing facility.
The official opening of the new production facility took place on Friday, 13 December 2013 in Bobrky. It was attended by representatives of ISS; the parent company, Nippon Kayaku Group (Japan); representatives of the Vsetín Town Council; neighboring companies; construction companies instrumental in the renovations and representatives of other institutions operating in the Vsetín region.
“In the current 5-year span, we see this as the 2nd growth phase driven by the globalization of our customers’ business activities in accordance with the increase of automobile sales in emerging markets. For this reason, we need to expand our production capacity of both MGGs and GTMSs and also to consider the most efficient way to bring our products to the market in terms of various factors such as the logistics of components, the final product, space for the molding process and so on. As it turns out, we finally decided to establish the ‘molding shop’ here at Location 4 in Bobrky” explained ISS President and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Susumu Tokutake. His speech was followed by an address from the President of Nippon Kayaku, Mr. Akira Mandai, in which he expressed his thanks to all those who contributed to the reconstruction of the building and he reminded the audience of the Japanese group’s, Nippon Kayaku’s, entrance into the Czech market.
“Nippon Kayaku decided to invest in ISS in 1999. At that time there were only three Japanese companies in the Czech Republic, so Nippon Kayaku was only the fourth Japanese investor in the Czech market” Mr. Akira Mandai emphasized.
Following the address, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tour of the production operation process. There were also brief but heartfelt greetings from Mrs. Květoslava Othová, Deputy Mayor of the town of Vsetín and Mrs. Ing., Věra Prousková, MBA, Chairperson of the Board of Vsetin hospital, a.s.
