Indet Safety Systems has donated two intensive care hospital beds. ISS donated CZK 200,000 to the Surgical Department at the Vsetín Hospital, a.s. earmarked for two brand new special intensive care beds. ISS has provided long-term support to Vsetín Hospital. The ceremony, where a symbolic check was presented, was held in the JIP Intensive Care Unit (ICU). At the same time, a children‘s art competition was announced. The theme of the artwork to be submitted is Japanese healing flowers (Kaiki Iwai). The best artwork will be displayed in the ICU area to comfort patients as well as health professionals as they go about their demanding work.
"The new beds have replaced the aging, mechanically operated beds. The difference is enormous," said ICU Deputy Head Physician, Radim Slovacek.
The easily adjustable, electrically-operated beds are designed for patients with serious medical conditions and, after suffering severe traumatic injuries or undergoing demanding surgical procedures, they are very important. "We are very pleased to be able to provide the new beds."
"Indet Safety Systems had already donated one bed six years ago and we have been very satisfied with it", commented the grateful Deputy Head Physician.
Representing ISS, the ceremony was attended by the President of ISS, Mr. Susumu Tokutake, Marketing Specialist, Ms. Marika Ondruchová, and HR Manager, Ms. Jitka Šimarová. "On this occasion I would like to announce an art competition. We have prepared this competition in cooperation with the Jablůnka primary school, which collaborates with the Vsetín Hospital as well. The theme for this competition is Japanese healing flowers", said Ing. Šimarová.
Jablůnka elementary school students will decorate the Vsetín Hospital with their paintings.
Last year the Surgical ICU at Vsetín Hospital, a.s. cared for 692 patients; the Surgical Department as a whole attended to more than three thousand hospitalized patients. Surgeons treat ill and injured patients from the Vsetín region as well as patients coming from other areas including patients with acute or chronic diseases.
In addition to general surgery, they specialized in certain areas in which they apply the most modern methods using friendly, non-invasive procedures.
Special attention is paid to the treatment of diseases of the digestive tract. "We deal with a wide variety of inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the abdominal cavity. We place special emphasis on the treatment of intestinal tumours in which we achieve very good results."
We use modern techniques such as laparoscopy, modern methods to stop bleeding, and also intraoperative ultrasonography to better assess the extent of the tumours and presence of metastases", said the Head of the Surgical Department, Dr. Jaroslav Sankot, MD. He added, "Some of us specialize in trauma surgery and perform advanced modern procedures in synthesizing broken bones, which is very beneficial in our mountainous region, where there are a lot of winter and summer sport activities. We also created the Centre for Hernia Solutions, we use the most modern implants and we have had great success in achieving long-term results. We also perform vascular surgery, dealing with atherosclerosis of the arteries, we have introduced modern methods of varicose vein treatment. We are successful in thyroid surgery and solving many other problems."
