Airbag 2010 is a conference and exhibition of airbags and restraint systems which takes place every two years in Karlsruhe, Germany. The market for safety-related equipment is one of the fastest growing markets and the new products are presented and discussed independently at the Airbag event.
A fair of this character and magnitude is an important opportunity for representatives of customers and competitors to meet, gain new experience, make closer contacts and to strengthen current business relationships. Our company could not be absent from this year’s symposium. Ten ISS people, two NK representatives and one person from our Chinese sister company represented the Nippon Kayaku Group as a whole at the symposium.
In comparison to Airbag 2008, our larger exhibition booth enabled more visitors to enter, which led to a higher level of interest in our products. ISS attendance at the symposium was also a good opportunity for the company to introduce our current or potential customers to a new product, the pin type and lead-wire type actuator designed for variant applications according to the latest market trends such as pedestrian protection or emergency car door unlocking.
Another important part of the symposium was a conference focused on following topics:

•Accident research
•Pedestrian protection
•Research, testing and simulations of various safety systems
•Presentation of the active (pre-crash, sensors, cameras) and passive (airbags, belt pretensioners, pedestrian protection) safety systems
Airbag 2000 + serves as a meeting place for engineers, scientists and companies to exchange information and improve business contacts. Therefore, we are pleased to have had the chance to be a part of such important worldwide trade fair.
