The Kaiki Iwai Competition, or Japanese healing flowers, which was announced by INDET SAFETY SYSTEMS a.s. (ISS) on 1 October 2013 at the Jablůnka elementary school, has a winner. 105 pupils competed paintingpictures for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Vsetín Hospital.
"I was surprised by the number of works and their beautiful colours. Especially the pictures from the 1st - 3rd grade category were amazingly colorful and optimistic. It was really difficult to choose the winners. All the children who participated in the competition deserve a lot of praise and recognition" said Ing. Jitka Šimarová, ISS HR Manager, who was one of six judges. The judges included two ISS employees, representatives from the Vsetín hospital and the Jablůnka school. The works of art were made to be hung in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Japanese healing flowers theme was chosen for a specific reason. Flowers are always symbolically positive and both patients and staff members will appreciate their colours and diversity. In Japan, the presentation of flowers, or Kaiki Iwai, in to a patient a very popular custom.
Students competed in three classes in different categories. Winners were selected over the past week and the official announcement took place on 11 November 2013 at the elementary school in Jablůnka.
The results were announced to the pupils by the Director, Mgr. Luďek Drlík. The prizes for the competition ware donated by ISS and presented together with the certificates ISS representatives, Mr. Hiroyuki Taniguchi (Board member) and Eva Navratilova (Specialist, Corporate Planning Department).
