Traffic Safety Competition for Young Cyclists

The regional final phase of the Traffic Safety Competition for Young Cyclists was held on 7 June 2013 at the Trávníky Elementary School in Vsetín. Indet was a proud sponsor of this event, which raises awareness of road safety issues for youth. This phase was the third level of the competition with winners to take part in the fourth level in Pilsen – this phase covers the whole country.

Each team consists of 4 contestants – 2 girls and 2 boys. There are two categories: the 10 – 12 age group and the 13 – 15 age group. All participants are tested in rules of the road, riding in a simulated traffic situation on a miniature road course, riding skills, working with a map and first aid.
The first category was won by a team representing the Napajedla Elementary School and the second category was won by a team representing the Zdounky Elementary School. All participants proved to have high levels of knowledge and abilities, so they were well deserving of the Indet prize (a sport bag with a ‘ride safely’ logo).

In each category one girl and one boy were proclaimed winners - they received a special gift from Indet – a cycling helmet.
